Ask the ExpertExpert Question: My relatives supposedly invested in land in Palestine in the 1920 and 1930s through Nachlas Atlanta. Can you tell me more about it? Expert Answer: In 1922, a group of Jews in Atlanta organized themselves for the purpose of acquiring land in Palestine under the name of Nachlas Atlanta. They purchased 200 dunams of land in Herzlia (today in Israel) through the American Zion Commonwealth for the price of $8,000. While some of the land was donated to the Jewish National Fund (JNF), other land was retained by individuals. As a result of this, land may still be owned by families unbeknownst by them or they may have money owed to them by the sale of land which is accumulating by the treasury in Israel. Below is a table of individuals who may own land, may have owned land, or may be owed money. If you know the descendants of any of these individuals, please contact the Family Tree Expert for additional information.
